During this phase, I create a realistic graphics mockup of the website used to gain feedback from the client and make changes to content, design, and layout. Because the overall look and feel of the website can change depending upon the content and design, often a website theme selection is decided at this phase. The theme selection must be done prior to beginning the Development phase.
Here is where creating the actual website begins. All of the elements from the previous phases are put together in creating the actual website. During this phase, I solicit feedback from the client to make changes as we go. I encourage the client to get feedback from employees, family, customers, and friends. It’s easier to make changes now than when the website is completed and launched.
The launch does not take much time itself, but I advise the client in promoting their website launch and take care of any last minute changes. There are almost always last minute changes.
This post-launch phase takes place for about a week after launch to fine tune the website as the client gets feedback from customers, friends, family, and employees if they haven’t already done so. A website live and operational will be used many people and there are always ways to improve based on feedback from users.
